Sources of Harmonics

Harmonic pollution mainly comes from devices like variable frequency drives and rectifiers, used in lighting, UPS systems, and office equipment. These generate 3rd, 5th, and 7th order harmonics, with distortion rates typically reaching 10-30%.

Key Issues

High-order harmonics are found in the zero line of three-phase systems, leading to overloads, overheating, insulation damage, and even fire hazards.

Solutions

Ikonmac’s AHF filters harmonics (2nd-50th order), especially targeting the 3rd, 5th, and 7th orders. It balances three-phase systems, reduces neutral line current, and improves power factor, ensuring safer and more efficient operations.
