Key Issues

High-order harmonics are found in the zero line of three-phase systems, leading to overloads, overheating, insulation damage, and even fire hazards.

Ikonmac’s AHF filters harmonics (2nd-50th order), especially targeting the 3rd, 5th, and 7th orders. It balances three-phase systems, reduces neutral line current, and improves power factor, ensuring safer and more efficient operations.

Project Overview

Beijing Beichen Times Plaza, a high-end commercial hub, includes 12 transformers, with high harmonic loads on transformers 8, 9, and 11. Our testing confirmed significant harmonic distortion.

Analysis and Solution

The project uses energy-efficient lighting and electronic devices, generating harmonics of 3 to 11 times the fundamental frequency. This affected power quality. Our 400A Active Harmonic Filter system is now in operation to address the issue.

Module Performance

The analysis shows a significant improvement, with harmonic distortion reduced from 26.8% to 4.1%. The system’s efficiency is notably improved, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power supply.

Project Overview

Shanghai Zhao Feng Plaza is located in the busy Zhongshan Park area, with a total construction area of 254,516 m². The plaza includes two towers, one of 42 stories and another of 22 stories, with modern office standards and parking for 1,900 cars.

Analysis and Solution

The building’s lighting system and power devices, such as UPS and elevators, generated harmonics, affecting power quality. To address this, a 400A AHF was installed, which effectively reduced harmonic distortion.

Module Performance

The solution achieved a 34.1% reduction in harmonic distortion, with a voltage THD of 3.6%. The improved power quality has been well received by the management and professionals involved.
