Project Introduction
Beijing Daxing International Airport is a newly built modern airport and an important milestone in the history of Chinese civil aviation. Construction of the Beijing New Airport project began on December 26, 2014. The airport officially opened on September 25, 2019. As of February 2021, the terminal area of Beijing Daxing International Airport is 780,000 square meters, with 223 parking positions, including 76 near-term and 147 remote positions. In 2022, the airport handled 52 million passengers.
Analysis and Solution
The airport’s main loads include lighting systems such as fluorescent lamps and LED energy-saving lights (single-phase harmonic sources), as well as variable speed drives like air conditioning and elevators. These primarily generate 3rd, 5th, and 7th-order harmonics. To ensure electrical safety and improve power quality, the project uses 16 sets of IKM-Static Var Generator 5700kVar & IKM-Active Harmonic Filter 150Amps.
Performance
THDi After Mitigation 4.8%
After the equipment was installed, the harmonic current distortion rate was reduced from 17% to 4.8%. The harmonic mitigation effect is excellent, effectively addressing harmonic currents in the distribution system, improving power quality, reducing line losses, and ensuring the stable operation of distribution and production equipment. The significant results have been recognized and appreciated by the owner.
