Project Introduction
As one of the three major data centers of China Mobile in Jiangsu, the China Mobile (Suzhou) Cloud Computing Center, located in Fenhu, is expected to have a total investment of 5 billion yuan. It is planned to have over 16,000 racks, providing high-quality cloud computing services for customers in the Yangtze River Delta region. The data center boasts a significant geographical advantage and, with its professional technology and services, has become an important strategic infrastructure for interconnectivity in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Analysis and Solution
The main load in the data center is the UPS, which is a primary source of harmonics, generating 11th and 13th harmonics. Additionally, lighting and variable frequency air conditioning also generate harmonics. The presence of harmonic currents in the system can affect the safety of power distribution and usage, while also interfering with the normal operation of communication equipment in the data center. To address harmonics and improve power quality, this project adopted iKonMac’s 400k Static Var Generator for reactive power compensation and harmonic mitigation.
Performance
THDi After Mitigation 4.3%
After the equipment was put into operation, the harmonic current distortion rate decreased from 44.7% to 4.3%. The harmonic mitigation effect was excellent, effectively addressing the harmonic currents in the power distribution system, improving power quality, reducing line losses, and ensuring the stable operation of distribution and production equipment.
