Project Introduction
Jiangsu Tianyuan Glass Products Co., Ltd. is a joint venture funded by Hong Kong Xiangfu Department Store Group and Jinshiyuan Group Co., Ltd. It is located in the Lianshui Economic Development Zone, Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province. The company covers an area of 100,000 square meters, with 40,000 square meters of standardized workshops. It has a registered capital of 21.4 million USD and a total investment of 29 million USD. The company specializes in the processing and manufacturing of glass products, with large-scale production, top-tier equipment, and strong technical capabilities. It currently employs over 800 staff members.
Analysis and Solution


This project installed photovoltaic (PV) equipment using Huawei inverters. During periods of strong sunlight, the PV generation closely matched the electricity consumption, resulting in a very low power factor. Additionally, during midday when the load was minimal, the PV system fed capacitive reactive power back into the grid, causing a negative power factor and leading to monthly electricity penalty charges.
Subsequently, the project adopted iKonMac’s 200kVAR SVG module. After commissioning and testing, the compensation solution proved effective, successfully resolving the user’s electricity penalty issues.

After SVG compensation, the capacitive reactive power fed back by the photovoltaic system was converted into inductive reactive power. This improved the system’s power factor from a negative value to a positive value.
