Project Introduction

        Nanjing Olympic Sports Center is an Asia A-grade stadium and a representative of the fifth generation of sports architecture worldwide. It is a multifunctional, national-level sports venue, with its main facilities including “four stadiums and two centers.” These include the stadium (with a training field), gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis center, sports technology center, and cultural and sports entrepreneurship center.

        The main loads at the Olympic Sports Center include LED lights, large diode dimming equipment, fluorescent lamps, etc., which generate significant 3rd-order harmonics. These harmonics cause current to accumulate on the neutral line. Additionally, variable frequency air conditioners, variable frequency elevators, and other power electronic devices mainly produce 5th and 7th-order harmonics. The generated harmonics degrade power quality, affecting the stable operation of distribution and production equipment.

        After the installation of IKM-Static Var Generator 600kvar, the harmonic current distortion rate was reduced from 26.8% to 4.1%. The harmonic mitigation effect is excellent, effectively eliminating harmonic currents in the distribution system, improving power quality, reducing line losses, and ensuring the stable operation of distribution and production equipment.
