Project Introduction
In July 2019, Sanhe Insurance Group was jointly registered with 3 state owned company, capital of 20.36 billion RMB. The group has over 60 provincial branches and 1,500+ local branches across China.
To optimize data center resources and reduce operational costs, Sanhe Insurance Group plans to relocate equipment and systems from several sites to the Hebei Sanhe Data Center.
Analysis and Solution
The main load in the data center is the UPS, which is a primary source of harmonics, generating the 11th and 13th harmonics. Additionally, lighting and variable frequency air conditioners also produce harmonics. The presence of harmonic currents in the system can affect power distribution and electrical safety, and interfere with the normal operation of communication devices in the data. To address harmonics and improve power quality, the project utilizes our 350kVar Static Var Generator for reactive power compensation and harmonic mitigation.

Power Factor After Compensation 0.99
After the SVG compensation, the power factor improved from 0.92 to 0.99.
