Project Introduction
Sinopharm Datong Weiqida Pharmaceutical primarily produces cephalosporin intermediates, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), powder injections, clavulanic acid APIs, as well as penicillin intermediates, APIs, oral solid preparations, and powder injections. It is a globally renowned supplier of potassium clavulanate.
Analysis and Solution
The main load of Sinopharm Pharmaceutical consists of variable frequency drive (VFD) motors. VFDs are the most common harmonic sources in the system, generating significant harmonics, primarily the 3rd, 5th, and 7th order harmonics. This project iKonMac’s Active Harmonic Filter with a capacity of 900A, along with Static Var Generator compensation upgrade of 3500kvar.
Performance
THDi After Mitigation 6.2%
After the equipment was put into operation, the harmonic current distortion rate decreased from 29.8% to 6.2%, demonstrating excellent harmonic mitigation performance. It effectively reduced harmonics in the power distribution system, improved power quality, lowered line losses, and ensured the stable operation of both the distribution and production equipment.
